The manga series *Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou*, known in Japan as *Everyday Life with Monster Girls*, is published by Tokuma Shoten in their *Monthly Comic Ryu* magazine. In the United States, Seven Seas Entertainment releases the series, compiling the chapters into eight tankōbon volumes so far.
The story follows Kimihito Kurusu, a Japanese student whose ordinary life is turned upside down when he accidentally gets involved in the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange” program. For years, the Japanese government kept a major secret: mythical beings such as centaurs, harpies, and lamias actually exist. Three years before the story begins, the government revealed their existence and enacted the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange Act.”
Since then, these creatures—called “liminals”—have gradually integrated into human society, living with ordinary families much like foreign exchange students or au pairs. However, there are strict rules in place, the most important being that humans and liminals must never harm each other.
