Nanatsu no Taizai, also known as The Seven Deadly Sins, is a Japanese manga series created by Nakaba Suzuki. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in October 2012, with the chapters later compiled into eighteen tankobon volumes by December 2015. The story is set in a world resembling medieval Europe and follows a group of knights who represent the seven deadly sins.
The series first appeared in the magazine’s 45th issue of 2012, though its concept originated from a one-shot published in the 52nd issue of 2011. The first tankobon volume was released on April 17, followed by subsequent volumes on June 17, February 15, 2013, and August 16 of the same year.
At New York Comic Con in 2013, Kodansha USA announced the English licensing of the manga. The first English volume was scheduled for release in March 2014, with new volumes following every two months.
